my story

My passion for costume began at an early age as my parents were classical ballet dancers and I was practically raised in a theatre. I went on to study Fashion Atelier and later Fashion and Dress History at university, but subsequently worked in a corporate environment. Within the last year I have embarked upon a career change to work in costume as I always desired, with the ambition to work specifically in costume design on HETV productions.

 

Many of my favourite productions are set in a historical period or fantasy setting and costumes are an enormous part of constructing these stories. Costume design helps to bring characters to life, and HETV productions are particularly well suited to allow an attention to detail which may not be possible in other productions. I would like to collate experiences within a HEtv setting, as series give so much scope for development of characters and their costumes, helping to create whole identities,

I have a desire to gain knowledge and experience in all areas of costume and I have enjoyed exploring the various roles I have worked in so far. I aim to continue to gain experience as a trainee but specifically in HETV, being particularly keen to work as a costume standby and in the production of costumes. I want to be a core member of design and making teams in high end productions and I have a variety of skills that I believe would be a valuable asset to any team. In 2-3 years I plan to have established a good reputation in the industry, leading to consistent roles in high end productions.
